Telegram uses two bots. The Agent bot answers questions and carries out tasks. The Notify bot sends investigation updates. Corvo calls them chat bot and alerts bot in the interface.

The two connections serve different actions.

An admin connects the bots from Integrations → Telegram bot. Each workspace has one Agent bot destination and a separate Notify bot destination. They can use the same group or different destinations.

1. Connect the Agent bot

Choose DM or Group for conversations with the Agent bot.

For a direct message:
  1. Select DM. The dialog opens with Direct message selected.
  2. Select Open DM in Telegram, or scan the QR code.
  3. Select Start in Telegram to send the binding token to the Agent bot.
  4. Return to Corvo. The card should show DM CONNECTED.
For a group:
  1. Select Group, then Add bot to group in the dialog.
  2. Choose the group in Telegram and complete the add-bot flow. If the bot is already there, copy the /bind@… command shown by Corvo and send it in that group.
  3. Wait for the bot’s confirmation. Return to Corvo and check for GROUP CONNECTED.
The link and binding command expire after three minutes. Reopen the dialog if the token expires or has already been used.

2. Connect the Notify bot

After the Agent bot is connected, the card offers Connect alerts bot.

GROUP CONNECTED refers to the Agent bot. Connect alerts bot starts the second connection.

  1. Select Connect alerts bot.
  2. Choose Direct message or Group chat for investigation notifications.
  3. In a DM, select Open alerts bot in Telegram, then Start. For a group, select Add alerts bot to group, or use the Notify bot’s own binding command from this dialog.
  4. Return to Corvo and check for ALERTS BOT (DM) or ALERTS GROUP (group), alongside the Agent bot’s connection status.

Check where alerts will arrive

A bound Discord channel takes priority for investigation alerts. Otherwise, Corvo uses the Telegram Notify bot destination; if that is not connected, it falls back to the Agent bot destination. Alerts are sent to the selected destination rather than broadcast to every integration. If notifications are missing, check this priority and both Telegram status badges. To change the Telegram setup, select Disconnect, reconnect the Agent bot, then reconnect the Notify bot. Disconnect clears both Telegram connections.
